HSBC PB in senior hires

HSBC Private Bank hired former Credit Suisse Private Bank exec Fan Cheuk-wan to serve as managing director and head of investment strategy for Asia.

Fan left the post of managing director and chief investment officer for Asia-Pacific at Credit Suisse last June.

In her new role, she will be responsible for developing regional investment strategies and themes across all asset classes.

Fan will also have management oversight of HSBC’s advisory framework and the sales management process.

She has 20 years of experience in the financial services field and held senior roles previously at ABN AMRO Bank, Cazenove Asia, BNP Peregrine Securities and Standard Chartered Securities.

In a second appointment, HSBC PB brought in Lionel Kwok to serve as managing director and head of sales management for Asia, based in Hong Kong.

Kwok will drive and coordinate the various aspects of sales management and ensure the entire process is in line with the bank’s global advisory programme.

He had been the regional head of investment counselling for Asia at HSBC Private Bank since July 2011.

Prior to that, he worked as the head of investment advisory, North Asia and Southeast Asia at Standard Chartered Private Bank, and head of investment solutions for Credit Suisse Private Banking for clients in North Asia.
