Roger Meier, UBP
Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has appointed Roger Meier as head of sales and client trading Asia. He reports to Dimitri Platonoff, head of treasury and trading Asia.
Meier is based in Singapore and will work closely with wealth management and investment services branches.
“In his new role within treasury and trading, Meier will be responsible for the strategic development of client-related trading propositions and sales linked to FX, structured products, and equity derivatives,” said the bank in a statement.
Meier has over 30 years of experience in the financial industry and led the Apac structured products advisory and sales teams at Julius Baer since 2010.
Meanwhile, Standard Chartered has relocated Samrat Khosla to Taiwan to head the wealth management arm.
Khosla will start his new role on 1 May, pending regulatory approval.
He will report to Kate Lin, head, consumer, private and business banking, Taiwan, and Marc Van de Walle, global head of wealth management.
Khosla joined the bank in 2003 and has held several roles across retail banking and wealth management in India and Singapore. He was head of wealth management in India since 2020.
Saurabh Jain took over Khosla’s role as the new head of wealth management in India in March.
Last week, Standard Chartered Hong Kong appointed Alson Ho as the head of wealth management in the territory, in line with the bank’s global wealth management strategy.
