StanChart hire targets UHNW

The private bank has hired Enoch Tan from Royal Bank of Canada to serve as managing director and regional head of ultra high net worth clients in the ASEAN region.

Tan joined the firm on 1 July and is based in Singapore.

At Royal Bank of Canada, he was managing director, head of client solutions for Asia. Previously, he was an investment banker at NM Rothschild & Sons and also worked at UBS Investment Bank.

At StanChart, Tan will lead the bank’s initiatives specific to the UHNW clients in the ASEAN region, and work with the front line teams to identify, engineer and deliver differentiated products to meet clients’ specialised needs.

He reports to Stephen Richards-Evans, head of global UHNW clients and locally to Peter Kok, regional head for ASEAN private banking clients.

“With Asia-Pacific leading the growth of UHNW wealth globally, we are excited to have Enoch join our specialist team of experts dedicated to meet both the corporate and private wealth needs of our UHNW clients,” said Richards-Evans.

“Particularly in the ASEAN region where entrepreneurs are significant wealth creators, Enoch’s strong track record in advising and conceiving sophisticated solutions will facilitate relationship managers in delivering tailored offerings to our ultra wealthy clients.”

In July, the bank appointed Sumeet Bhambri as the regional head of wealth management for ASEAN.

Recently, Fund Selector Asia reported that the bank appointed Andrew Chia as global head of managed investments in Singapore.

In March, the firm hired Christian Mueller as global head of investment advisory for private banking.
