SNB’s Singapore branch head relocates to Zurich

Marco Huwiler succeeds Fabian Schnell, who left the bank in October.
A new way of greeting to avoid the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Two people (a man and a woman) bump elbows instead of hug or handshake.

Marco Huwiler, the head of the Swiss National Bank’s (SNB) branch office in Singapore, is returning to Switzerland to take up a new role.

Huwiler has been appointed delegate for regional economic relations for the Zurich region. He succeeds Fabian Schnell, who left the SNB at the end of October.

Huwiler joined SNB in 1998 as a research assistant and has since held various positions within the bank including head of financial market analysis.

SNB’s eight delegates for regional economic relations represent SNB in the various regions of Switzerland. They maintain regular contact with companies from different industries and provide the governing board with information about the economic situation. They also have the task of briefing their regions on SNB’s monetary policy.
