Zurich-headquartered EFG has announced that David Louie will join the bank in April as the new CEO of its Hong Kong branch, subject to regulatory approval.

Louie is a replacement for Kees Stoute, who will take on the role of private banking COO for the Asia Pacific region.

He will also become a member of the Asia business committee chaired by Albert Chiu, executive chairman for Asia Pacific.

Louie was most recently market group head for China at Credit Suisse for 11 years. He was also a member of the Apac management committee and an executive officer for Credit Suisse’s Hong Kong branch.

He previously worked at Safra Sarasin, Clariden Leu Asset Management (Hong Kong) and Deutsche Bank.

He is one of several Credit Suisse bankers to jump ship lately. Earlier this month, Serene Wee joined Deutsche Bank as managing director and senior client partner for southeast Asia wealth management.

In January, Johanes Oeni also joined Deutsche as managing director and head of the international private bank (IPB) in southeast Asia.
