Citi rehires Vicky Kong as Hong Kong branch chief executive

Kong will oversee the consumer banking business in Hong Kong, including wealth strategy.

Citi has announced that Vicky Kong has started at the bank as consumer business manager for Citibank Hong Kong and the chief executive of Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited.

She will report to Angel Ng, head of Asia for Citi global wealth, and Aveline San, chief executive officer for Citi Hong Kong and Macau.

Kong started her career at Citi back in 1994, where she spent 14 years in the bank in various roles. She was the head of international personal banking from 2006 to 2008 before leaving for another 14 years of her career at Standard Chartered.

Her most recent roles were Standard Chartered’s regional head of wealth management for Greater China, North Asia and Hong Kong, and global head of wealth proposition.

“Vicky has been with Citi for 14 years in her early career path, we welcome her home to take on a role that is invaluable to us as we continue to build and expand our consumer and wealth business,” said Ng.

“There is no doubt that the wealth and consumer business will continue to grow and thrive as markets undergo rapid changes and people are putting more and more focus on managing their wealth.”

Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited is one of the legal entities of Citibank Hong Kong. The other legal entities are Citibank N.A. Hong Kong Branch and Citicorp International Limited.

Ng was promoted as the head of Asia back in April, with San succeeding her previous role to oversee the whole Citi Hong Kong franchise
