PIMCO appoints EM Asia portfolio head

PIMCO has appointed Luke Spajic, an executive vice president and portfolio manager, to lead the firm's emerging markets Asia portfolio management.
Spajic will also join PIMCO’s Asia-Pacific portfolio committee, reporting to Michael Gomez, managing director and head of emerging markets portfolio management.
 
Spajic joined PIMCO in 2007. He was previously PIMCO’s head of US credit research and head of panEuropean credit and assetbacked securities portfolio management in London.
 
 “Luke has a rich background in macroeconomic strategy, portfolio management and credit research, which makes him perfectly suited to his new role,” Gomez said.
 
Spajic is currently a senior credit portfolio manager based in Newport Beach, California. He will relocate to Singapore.
 
Hi appointment continues the enhancement of the firm’s team in Asia over the last few years. 
Raja Mukherji, an executive vice president and head of Asia credit research, relocated to Hong Kong from Newport Beach in 2011.
 
Ronie Ganguly, a senior vice president and EM portfolio manager joined the firm in Singapore in 2013.
 
The firm recently appointed Eric Mogelof, managing director, to lead the Asia Pacific region.
