Morningstar makes APAC appointment

The investment research house has appointed Jamie Wickham as head of products and client solutions for Asia-Pacific.

Wickham is based in Sydney and will be responsible for the firm’s product development and client solutions activities in the region.

He was previously head of global data and research products in London and led the firm’s managed investment, equity, and market data feed products and solutions. Prior to that, he was director of equity operations in London.

He has also worked as chief operating officer for the firm’s Australia and New Zealand business and was responsible for institutional and adviser products.

Wickham reports to Kunal Kapoor, head of global products and client solutions.

“He’ll drive our efforts to continue building operations and infrastructure for growth and developing processes for integrating our product management and client solutions activities in the Asia-Pacific region into our global framework,” said Kapoor.

Morningstar has regional offices in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Morningstar recently bought out Japanese investment and advisory service firm Ibbotson Associates after initially acquiring a stake in the firm in 2006.

The firm also issued its June analyst ratings and commentary for six funds available for sale in Asia, with several re-rated due to management changes.
