HEAD-TO-HEAD: Pinebridge vs Templeton
FSA compares the Pinebridge Global Emerging Markets Focus Equity Fund and the Templeton Emerging Markets Fund.
Fees
The Pinebridge fund charges an OCF of 2.22%, while the Templeton fund charges 2.47%.
Ng said both funds are priced slightly higher compared to peers.
The average charges of emerging markets equity funds available for sale in Hong Kong is 2.14%.
However, he noted that the AUM of the Pinebridge fund is small, potentially pushing up the fees. Templeton, which operates a number of local EM offices to provide deeper research, may justify a higher fee, Ng added.
