The Comgest fund, launched in 2003, retains a strong team despite the retirement of longtime manager Vincent Strauss, Caquineau said.
The team now has four portfolio managers, led by Wojciech Stanislawski, who has been in charge of the fund since its launch. He also personally invests in the fund, which helps align his interests with investors’, he noted.
Emil Wolter joined as a manager of the fund in March 2014. He brings 20 years of experience. Charles Biderman and David Raper were promoted to co-managers in January last year.
“The retirement of longtime skipper Vincent Strauss in January 2016 has been very well handled,” Caquineau said.
The Comgest team has a total of 17 members based in Paris, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mumbai with 14 years of experience on average. Thanks to the fund’s strict investment criteria, each analyst or manager covers about 10-15 stocks in detail, he added.
Turning to the Robeco fund, Jaap van der Hart has been the lead manager since November 2006. He has been on the emerging markets team since 2000 and joined Robeco back in 1994 as a quantitative researcher.
Another highlight is the head of the team, Wim-Hein Pals, with 26 years of experience, Caquineau said.
“Team work is essential here. In 2014, two portfolio managers moved internally but Robeco quickly found high-calibre replacements. In the meantime, two recruits were added,” he noted.
The team now has 13 members, nine of whom have 10 years of experience.
