Eastspring hires intermediary sales head

The Asia-based asset manager has tapped BNY Mellon Investment for the sales veteran.

Eastspring Investments, the $239 billion asset management business of Prudential plc, has announced the appointment of Dominic Wong as regional head of intermediary sales, effective 23 August 2024.

Based in Hong Kong, Wong (pictured) will be responsible for leading and growing Eastspring’s intermediary business. He will report to chief distribution officer Salman Haider.

“Accelerating the growth of our intermediary business is a key priority for Eastspring,” said Haider.

“Dominic’s extensive experience and deep relationships with intermediaries and wealth managers will be critical as we drive our efforts across our distribution teams to position Eastspring as a solutions partner of choice for the intermediary channels in Asia.”

Wong has more than 30 years’ experience in the asset management industry in Asia, most recently as head of intermediary distribution, Asia ex-Japan, at BNY Mellon Investment Management, where he oversaw the firm’s intermediary business across Greater China and Southeast Asia.

Prior to that, he was head of Northeast Asia intermediary business at Fidelity International, a role he held for more than a decade. Wong was also head of retail sales, Hong Kong, for BlackRock.
