BNP Paribas IP names senior hires for Asia Pacific

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has appointed Ligia Torres as head of Asia-Pacific and emerging markets and Vincent Camerlynck as chief executive for Asia Pacific.

The investment manager said it aims to strengthen its business in the Asia Pacific and emerging markets region with these two key appointments.

 

Based in London, Torres reports to BNPP IP’s CEO Philippe Marchessaux. 

 

Prior to this new role, Torres was head of UK operations for BNP Paribas Wealth Management and chairman of BNPP IP UK.

 

Camerlynck who has been based in Hong Kong since 2012 was previously BNPP IP’s deputy CEO, Asia Pacfic. Prior to his relocation to Hong Kong, he was based in London responsible for institutional sales globally. He will report to Torres.

 

BNPP IP manages €60bn worth of assets in the APAC and emerging market space as of June, while its total assets under management are worth €478bn.
