Bank of Singapore has appointed Jason Moo as its chief executive officer, effective 6 March.

Moo is a replacement for Bahren Shaari, who stepped down at the end of last year after 13 years with the private bank. Vincent Choo has been acting as interim CEO in his stead.

Moo has 25 years’ experience in private banking, wealth management and capital markets. He was most recently head of private banking for southeast Asia and branch manager for Singapore at Julius Baer.

Moo also previously served as head of southeast Asia and Australia in Goldman Sachs’ private bank as well as chief executive for Singapore.

“We are confident that Jason’s extensive experience and deep industry knowledge will accelerate the momentum of Bank of Singapore’s growth. Having worked in top global financial markets, Jason will bring a unique set of skills and perspectives to Bank of Singapore,” said Lai Teck Poh, chairman of Bank of Singapore.

“He will build on what Bank of Singapore has already accomplished, sharpen the Bank’s strategic direction, and further develop its talent and capabilities. We look forward to welcoming Jason in March.”
