StanChart streamlines senior team

Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore has revealed changes among its senior management team as the lender pushes ahead with streamlining operations.

Andrew Chia has been appointed head of retail banking. He is presently the global head of managed investments under the bank’s group wealth management business unit. Chia will move into his new role by 1 November, 2015, a bank official confirmed to Fund Selector Asia.

Vanessa Leung and Goh Beng Kim will assume the positions of head of commercial banking and head of transaction banking respectively. Both are to assume their new roles, also by 1 November, 2015.

StanChart has not disclosed where it intends to deploy the current heads of commercial banking and transaction banking, Kenneth Tham and Motasim Iqbal, respectively.

Chia and Leong will report to Judy Hsu, SCB Singapore’s newly installed CEO. Hsu’s most recent position was group head of wealth management, for which she will remain responsible during a transition period. 

Goh will report to Patrick Lee, the bank’s head of corporate and institutional banking.
