Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has hired Yu Zhang as senior portfolio manager in the Asian equity team.
Zhang joins from Matthews Asia, where he was a portfolio manager for over 12 years, managing Asia dividend and Asia ex-Japan dividend strategies and serving as a co-manager of China dividend strategies. Prior to joining Matthews Asia in 2007, he worked at Aperta Asset Management from 2005 to 2007.
Zhang will report to Raymond Chan, chief investment officer for equity in Asia Pacific at AllianzGI and is based in Hong Kong.
