Pioneer unveils key appointments in Asia

Pioneer Investments announced three key appointments in Asia, marking a step towards strengthening its presence in the region.

Amy Wang joins as head of greater China – institutional. Johnny Wong has been appointed CEO and MD of Pioneer Investments’ Taiwan operations and Anthony Heredia was named CEO for Baroda Pioneer Asset Management Company. All three report to Jack Lin, head of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

“[Our] clients’ needs are evolving [with] asset growth in this region expected to outpace the rest of the world. These appointments are vital in addressing those needs,” Lin said.

Pioneer Investments disclosed earlier in June that it favours Indian and Chinese equities from a medium-term perspective.

“Both countries are well-positioned to succeed in their transitional growth model through structural reforms which will bring improvement in the business environment and in resource allocation,” Pioneer noted in a published advisory forum.

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments, Wang was chief representative for Templeton International for 12 years, while Wong was founder, GM and MD of Neuberger Berman, which started in 2012. Heredia was recruited from Morgan Stanley where he was MD of Morgan Stanley Investment Management since 2007.
