Manulife IM hires Calvin Lim as alts specialist in Singapore

The asset manager has tapped Bank of Singapore to grow its alternatives business.

Manulife Investment Management has appointed Calvin Lim as alternatives investment specialist, based in Singapore, effective today.

He is responsible for supporting the efforts of Manulife Investment Management in bringing the firm’s range of private market capabilities, including private equity, private credit, and real assets to Asia.

Lim (pictured) will work alongside distribution teams in the region to deliver the firm’s suite of private market investment solutions to clients. 

Hui-Jian Koh, chief executive officer of Manulife Investment Management Singapore, said: “The appointment of [Lim] highlights our emphasis on providing alternative investment solutions to investors in Singapore and across Asia as they continue to search for diversified sources of income.”

Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management, Lim was product specialist in the private markets & alternatives team at Bank of Singapore, where he was responsible for the origination, due diligence and advisory of private market funds and direct investments, and hedge fund solutions for global private wealth clients.

He started his career in private wealth management with Goldman Sachs in Singapore.
