Manulife appoints two more in Asia

Manulife Asset Management continues hiring in the region by bringing over professionals from BNY Mellon and HSBC AM to fill two positions.

Wendy Lim will be CEO of Manulife AM (Singapore) and Bonnie Lam was selected to be head of partnership development for the firm’s wealth and asset management arm in Hong Kong.

Lim will oversee the growth of Manulife AM’s wealth and asset management business. She will work with life insurance and distribution partners to develop the firm’s mutual fund, pension and investment-linked insurance solutions for the Singapore market.

She will report to Michael Dommermuth, Manulife AM’s Asian head of wealth and asset management.

Lim was most recently CEO and managing director of business development and marketing for BNY Mellon Investment Management’s Asia Pacific division.

Bonnie Lam takes on a newly-created role in which she will meet new and existing third-party distributors for the areas of equity, fixed income and asset allocation.

Prior to joining Manulife AM, Lam was working at HSBC Global Asset Management in Hong Kong. Her career with HSBC AM spans 15 years, including six years as regional head of wholesale business.

Lim and Lam appointments follow the recent appointments of Frederick Reidenbach as chief financial officer for the firm’s wealth and asset management arm and Grace Ho as chief marketing officer for the same business unit.
