He is responsible for leading Singapore-based fixed income strategies, with regard to the Singapore currency, rates and credit markets, as well as contributing to the pan-Asian fixed income team, such as the Asia total return and Asian bond absolute return strategies.
“As the slow growth and low interest rate environment looks to remain for a period of time, we continue to be committed to identifying investment solutions in the Singapore and Asian fixed income space,” Endre Pedersen, chief investment officer of Asia ex-Japan fixed income, said in a statement.
Manulife currently sells a Singapore bond fund in the city state, which has been among the top five performing funds among the 13 products in the Singapore dollar-denominated bond category for one-, three- and five-year periods, according to FE Analytics.
Collis was most recently head of Asian fixed income at Standish Mellon Asset Management for three and a half years, and spent 16 years with First State Investments covering currencies, global bonds and credit.
