The US firm taps Nomura for its representative at its Tokyo branch.

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY Mellon), a global financial services company, announced today that Kunio Watanabe has been appointed as Japan country executive and representative for The Bank of New York Mellon, Tokyo Branch.

He will be responsible for leading the BNY Mellon business in Japan, and will be a member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Council.

“Japan is a critically important market for BNY Mellon,” said Fangfang Chen, head of Asia Pacific at BNY Mellon.

“[Watanabe] significant experience in financial services will be pivotal as we continue to support clients with technology, services and expertise across our platforms, so they can meet their goals across the entire financial lifecycle.”
