JP Morgan appoints Asia head of sovereign and institutional business

Farrell will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in the market and for providing clients with service and strategic investment advice.

Previously Farrell was head of sovereign and institutional business for South and South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She replaces Andrew Economos who left JP Morgan to join Capital Group in May last year.

Having relocated from Singapore, Farrell will be based in Hong Kong. 

“Asia is a critical market for our global asset management franchise and I am confident that the team and our clients will benefit from this important appointment,” said Patrick Thomson, global head of sovereigns.

Farrell has 20 years of investment management and advisory experience in the US, Europe and Asia.

Prior to JP Morgan, she worked at Citi Capital Advisors, the alternative asset management division of Citigroup, where she served as head of Asia-Pacific investor relations and distribution.
