HSBC PB senior management moves

Siew Meng Tan is to succeed Bernard Rennell as Asia-Pacific head of global private banking starting next year, while Rennell becomes a senior advisor to focus more on the client side.

Rennell has been appointed senior advisor to the CEO for key client coverage on the global private banking team after working as the regional head for nearly three years.

The appointments “follow Bernard’s request to transition from his current role to focus more on the client side”, the firm said in a statement.

Rennell “has been working closely over a number of years with the owners of many of HSBC’s key corporate clients and this move will enable him to increase his focus in this area to the benefit of both clients and the bank”.

He will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with clients across Asia-Pacific and globally.

Tan has transferred over from the commercial banking side. Since July 2015, she had been serving as the regional head of global trade and receivables finance for Asia-Pacific.

Peter Boyles, global CEO of HSBC Private Bank said in the statement that Tan’s “considerable experience on the corporate side is well placed to drive further growth as we continue to invest in our private banking business in Asia Pacific”.
