HEAD-TO-HEAD: Pinebridge versus T Rowe Price
FSA compares two global equity products: the Pinebridge Global Focus Equity Fund and the T Rowe Price Global Focused Growth Equity Fund.
Conclusion
Morningstar and FE Analytics both rate the T Rowe Price fund as superior, awarding it five stars and five crowns, compared with three stars and one crown, respectively, for the Pinebridge fund.
McDermott concurs with the two assessments.
Looking at the two funds, McDermott said the Pinebridge fund is well managed and has beaten the sector several years, but he prefers the T Rowe Price Global Focused Growth Equity Fund.
“Not only has performance been more consistent and better, but it also costs a lot less, with the OCF at only 0.92% compared with 1.95% charged by the Pinebridge fund,” he said.
