McDermott does not pick a winner between the two, noting instead that both are “excellent strategies” in a fast-growing segment of the market.
“The high conviction nature of both is backed by two strong support teams and, ultimately, performance,” he said.
“I’d say they Pictet fund has a wider approach to environmental investing, which may suit those making their first move into this space. However, the Ninety One fund’s focus on CO2 emissions is clearly going to see its investment universe grow in the future, with exposure to emerging markets likely to give it further scope for great long-term returns.”
