Awareness of the importance of minimising costs for investors is growing because they come directly out of returns. Morningstar, for instance, reduces its ratings for the expensive share classes of products it analyses.
The ongoing charges figure (OCF) for Merian fund is 1.95%, which is in line with the median fee for the 16 UK equity products available to Hong Kong and Singapore investors.
However, the Schroder fund’s OCF of 2.34% is at the top end of the range in its category.
