Andrew Acker has been managing the Janus fund since 2007. He was joined in 2016 by Ethan Lovell, who had been a research analyst with the firm since 2007. A key advantage is that both have a science education background: Acker in biochemical sciences and Lovell in chemistry.
“Healthcare is a special industry, compared to other sectors,” said Ng. “You need specialised knowledge. It’s really important to understand the industry before you understand the company. It’s different from the consumer or other sectors.”
“Janus has positioned its team quite well, as many of the analysts have a healthcare industry background,” he added.
Jon Stephenson, the manager of the Parvest fund, joined the firm in 2016. He is supported by a team of four investment specialists. He has 19 years of financial industry experience.
