The Invesco fund is co-managed by Mike Shiao and Lorraine Kuo, with Shiao being the lead manager.
Shiao first joined the firm in 2002 and started managing the fund in 2006. He has been the lead manager of the Greater China equity portfolios since 2008 and became the lead manager of the Asia opportunities equity portfolios in 2014. He is also responsible for single country-focused portfolios for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, as well as institutional mandates investing in Hong Kong and China.
Kuo joined Invesco in 2011 and has been co-manager of the fund since then. She is also co-manager for other Greater China equity portfolios, plus Hong Kong and China portfolios, Ng added.
Both Shiao and Kuo are supported by a team of 20 analysts covering the Asia-Pacific region.
Turning to the JP Morgan fund, the product is managed by co-managers Howard Wang and Rebecca Jiang.
Wang, who joined JP Morgan AM in 2005 and has been managing the fund since then, is also the head of the Greater China team within the emerging markets and Asia-Pacific equities team. He also serves as the primary adviser for the investment team within the firm’s Shanghai-based joint venture China International Fund Management, according to Ng.
Jiang joined the firm in 2017 after six years at Fidelity, where she was a senior equity research analyst. Besides co-managing the fund, she is a country specialist for Greater China equities, Ng added.
Wang and Jiang are supported by seven other portfolio managers within the Greater China team and at least 12 analysts dedicated in covering the region.
Ng said he has no concerns with both teams, as both have very experienced managers and ample resources.
