Yet another AI fund, competition is a good thing, let’s unleash the leverage, Baby! Pony is making driverless car progress, Amundi is bullish on Asia, learning to suffer heroically and much more.
The BNY Mellon Global Leaders Fund is run by a team of managers at Walter Scott, a BNY Mellon IM affiliate based in Edinburgh that focuses on global equities and manages around £40bn ($55.9bn) in global mandates, according to McDermott.
The team is “vastly experienced”, with many of the senior team having worked there for at least 25 years.
The individual managers of the fund are not named on its fund factsheet, while Morningstar Direct indicates that the managers are “undisclosed”, however.
The Ninety One Global Equity Fund is managed by the trio of Rhyndhardt Roodt, Christine Ballham and Jonathan Parker, who are all part of the 4Factor team, according to McDermott.
Rhyndhart is co-head of the 4Factor investment framework and is also co-portfolio manager of the 4Factor Global Dynamic Equity Strategy at Ninety One.
Meanwhile, in addition to being co-portfolio manager for the global equity strategy, Ballham is also a global financials sector specialist, global services sector specialist and portfolio manager for the International Equity Fund. Parker also co-manages the Global Core Equity Strategy, having also run the UK Core and aggressive products, McDermott added.
McDermott has no concerns over both the BNY Mellon and Ninety One teams, as the managers are experienced and are well-resourced.
