The Blackrock fund has three fund managers: Neeraj Seth, Artur Piasecki and Ronie Ganguly, according to Ng.
Seth has been managing the fund since 2012 and is also the lead manager for the Asian credit absolute return and benchmark active strategies. He joined the firm in 2009 and has since been the firm’s head of Asian credit.
Both Piasecki and Ganguly became co-managers of the fund last month, but have been fund managers within the firm for quite some time, Ng said.
The three managers are supported by 10 Asia-Pacific dedicated research analysts.
Turning to the First State fund, Ng said the lead portfolio manager is Nigel Foo, who has been managing the fund since 2003.
He is supported by 13 other portfolio managers who cover emerging markets, including Asia-Pacific; they are based in Hong Kong, Singapore and London.
“At First State, they combine their emerging markets and Asia fixed income teams, and the portfolio managers are also the research analysts of the fund.”
Ng said he does not have any concerns with either team, as their managers are experienced and have ample resources to manage the fund.
