Fees for the emerging market equity fund category vary widely, ranging from as steep as 3.05% to a bargain annual charge of just 0.44%, according to FE Fundinfo data.
The median ongoing charges figure (OCF) for the retail share class of emerging market equity funds in Hong Kong and Singapore is 1.95%, according to FE Fundinfo data.
The Barings product has an OCF of 1.95%, in line with the average, and the First State fund is slightly cheaper at 1.75%,
“Both fees are reasonable, especially for an asset class that requires significant resources,” said McDermott.
