HEAD-TO-HEAD: Alquity versus T Rowe Price
FSA compares two Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) equity products: the Alquity Asia Fund and the T Rowe Price Asian Opportunities Equity Fund.
Conclusion
McDermott likes both strategies, but favours the T Rowe Price offering more than the Alquity fund.
“We like the approach of the team at Alquity, and in Mike Sell the firm has one of the most experienced managers in the space, who has a keen eye on absolute returns.
“However, the T Rowe Price fund is undoubtedly one of the leaders in this market, having demonstrated exceptional performance, coupled with a strong focus on the downside, hence the preference for high quality stable companies, making it an ideal core fund for investors in this space,” he said.
