Mike Sell joined Alquity in 2014 and has managed the Alquity Indian Subcontinent Fund since its launch in the same year. “He is head of global emerging market equities and has over 25 years’ of experience investing across the asset class,” said McDermott.
Prior to his arrival at Alquity, Sell worked at Thames River/Nevsky Capital on the emerging market investment desk. “Here, he was part of a team which grew its emerging market assets from $150m to $3.5bn,” said McDermott.
This business was ultimately purchased by F&C (now BMO) where Sell moved to for three years before joining Alquity.
Amit Goel started his investment career in June 2005 and joined Fidelity in January 2006 as a research specialist focusing on the healthcare sector, before taking on a broader research analyst role in 2008 covering multiple sectors across the Indian equity market, according to McDermott.
He subsequently joined Fidelity’s Asia portfolio management team and has been involved in the management of the Fidelity Funds India Focus fund since March 2016. He took on sole management of the fund two years ago.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Goel worked at First Global Stockbroking in India with responsibility for the European and Indian pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
