HEAD-TO-HEAD: JP Morgan vs Schroders
FSA compares two China mixed asset products — the JP Morgan China Income Fund and the Schroders China Asset Income Fund.
All fund and benchmark NAVs have been converted to US dollars. The indices are not the funds’ benchmarks and are used for comparison purposes.
The chart shows the cumulative performance of the funds and the Asia-Pacific mixed asset sector since the end of September 2016 (due to the August 2016 launch of the Schroders fund).
In spite of the differences in their strategies, both the JP Morgan and Schroders fund performed well during the period, Ng said.
“Despite the difference in focus, both benefitted from what was happening in the market.”
For example, onshore Chinese value stocks have performed well this year, which was positive for the JP Morgan fund. Offshore, it was technology stocks that were doing well, benefitting the Schroders fund.
