DWS has appointed Hiroki Wiesheu as president and head of coverage for Japan, effective 1 November.

He reports to Vanessa Wang, head of Apac and head of coverage for Apac.

Wiesheu joins from Metzler Asset Management Japan, where he served as president and chief executive officer. Before that, he worked in M&A and equity advisory at Rothschild and also in equity capital markets at Commerzbank.

“With Hiroki’s deep understanding of Japan and our business partners, we are confident that his inter-cultural perspectives and global mindset would be well appreciated by clients and staff alike,” said Wang.

“Japanese investors are known to be frontier investors especially in new areas of opportunities in robo-advisory, sustainability and tokenisation. We look forward to offering investment solutions to meet their needs for the future.”

“Our global presence and coverage are an advantage that local investors would stand to benefit from. We hope to continue with a client-centric culture as we fulfil our fiduciary responsibilities,” said Wiesheu.
