Maya Kamdani steps up to the position.

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has promoted Maya Kamdani to president director of PT. BNP Paribas Asset Management (PT. BNPP AM) in Indonesia, effective 31 December 2023.

Based in Jakarta, she succeeds Priyo Santoso, who has retired from the firm to pursue other interests, according to a statement by the group.

Kamdani (main picture) joined PT. BNPP AM in 2008 and was appointed deputy president Director last January. She also maintained her role as head of marketing then and was responsible for developing the firm’s products and marketing strategies.

In her new role, she reports to Hong Kong-based Mike Nikou, BNPP AM Asia Pacific chief executive officer, and leads the development and continuing implementation of BNPP AM’s long-term business strategy, while strengthening relationships with customers and stakeholders in this growth market.

Kamdani is a 25-year veteran in the financial services industry, having worked in both Indonesia and the United States.

Commenting on the appointment, Mike said: “With her deep knowledge in the financial industry, Maya is well placed to lead the firm to continue providing our customers with exceptional investment services and solutions, while making a positive and constructive contribution to the development of the investment management industry in Indonesia,” said Nikou.
