Honig has taken charge of a new role as head of sales, wealth management and family offices distribution for Asia-Pacific, the firm said.
Bimal is based in Hong Kong and will lead the private banking teams, servicing domestic wealthy Indian clients and non-resident Indians (NRI) in Asia.
He joined the firm in 2012 as managing director and CEO of the firm’s India business and has 25 years of experience in the wealth management industry.
Himanshu Mehta, who has been managing director and head of domestic corporate group for BNP Paribas in India, has now been named as the CEO of BNP Paribas Wealth Management India. His appointment is subject to regulatory approvals.
He will be based in Mumbai and lead the bank’s wealth management unit.
He will report to Bimal and Jacques Michel, CEO and country head of BNP Paribas India.
Bimal reports to Mignonne Cheng, chairman and chief executive of BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Asia-Pacific.
“India is a key market for BNP Paribas Wealth Management in Asia Pacific,” Cheng said.
“We are confident that Samir [Bimal] and Himanshu [Mehta] will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and bolster the high quality of services we offer in this market,” Cheng added.
