Allfunds has announced that Antonio Varela will be joining the company as its new chief operating officer (COO), starting December 2023.
Based in Zurich, Vaeral (main picture) will report directly to Juan Alcaraz, chief executive officer, and will join Allfunds’ executive committee. In his capacity as COO, Varela will have oversight of the operations and information technology departments.
Previously, Varela worked as head of global wealth EMEA technology and operations at Citi, as well as Swiss senior country operations officer.
Prior to joining Citi, he held various positions at Credit Suisse in the group’s COO division, including responsibilities for cloud adoption globally and head of private banking technology for the Americas.
His contributions extended to roles in New York as the Americas regional lead for the group’s CTO, leading teams for risk & finance, corporate systems technology, and operations.
