State Street promotes two

State Street has appointed Wai Kwong Seck, currently the head of the firms global services and global markets businesses in Asia Pacific, to its management committee.

The management committee is State Street’s senior-most strategy and policy making group.

Seck has run State Street’s global markets and global services businesses in Asia Pacific since 2011. Prior to that, he was chief financial officer at the Singapore Exchange for eight years.

Previously, he held senior-level positions at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, GIC, Lehman Brothers and DBS Bank.

Also promoted to the committee is Gunjan Kedia, who runs the firm’s investment servicing capabilities in the Americas for mutual fund, insurance and institutional clients.

“These promotions to our senior-most leadership team reflect the considerable contributions Wai Kwong and Gunjan have made to the success of our business,” said Jay Hooley, chairman and CEO, in a statement.

State Street Corp had $2.42 trillion in assets under management as of September 30.

Earlier this year, the firm set up an alternative investments office in Shanghai to serve its hedge fund, private equity and real estate clients, FSA reported.
