TT International has hired two portfolio managers and a senior analyst from BNP Paribas Asset Management to build out its emerging markets (EM) debt proposition.
The new hires will be joining Jean-Charles Sambor, BNPP AM’s former EM debt head, who left to head up TT International’s EM debt offering earlier this month.
TT also hired a senior trader from Jupiter Asset Management who used to work with the team at BNPP AM, as well as a credit analyst from Moelis & Company based in Hong Kong.
“The team is sizeable, specialist and highly experienced, having grown together at previous reputable institutions,” said Sambor (pictured) head of EM debt at TT International. “This team understands each other’s strengths and weaknesses, having cultivated a deep trust that is essential during difficult periods in markets.”
Alex Zunega will be based in TT International’s London office as a portfolio manager (PM). He was a PM at BNPP AM for eight years specialising in sovereign credit.
Stefan Roessler will also be based in London as a PM. He was at BNPP AM for five and a half years, specialising in EM portfolio management and top-down macro portfolio construction.
Michael Lam also joins TT’s London office as a senior trader. He arrives from Jupiter Asset Management, having previously held trading roles at Manulife, BNPP AM and Amundi.
In Hong Kong, Ronald Huang joins TT as a senior analyst. He was previously a credit analyst at BNPP AM, having previously done stints at Moody’s and S&P Global.
DI Wang will also join TT’s Hong Kong office as a senior analyst. The former Moelis & Co. investment banker specialises in restructuring distressed debt.
Jean-Charles Sambor said: “In addition to Alex, Stefan and Ronald, I am also excited to welcome Di Wang to the investment team. His background in restructuring and distressed debt brings a unique set of specialised expertise and offers a fresh, independent perspective that will further strengthen the team’s competitive edge in the market.”
He added: “I am delighted to be part of an exciting EM evolution here at TT. The firm already has a world-class EM equity team, with a deep and sophisticated investor base.”
