Threadneedle names APAC marketing head

Threadneedle Investments has poached in Henderson's Grace Chow for the role of head of marketing and communications for Asia Pacific as the fund house seek to expand its operations in Asia.

Based in Singapore, Chow joined the asset manager last month and is responsible for driving all marketing and communications strategies and initiatives across the Asia Pacific region. She was most recently head of marketing, Asia Pacific at Henderson.

Her main priorities are to strengthen Threadneedle’s brand profile and accelerate its market presence across all of its key market segments including institutional, wholesale and retail.

Chow will report to Andrew Chan, chief administrative officer & head of product and business development for Asia Pacific, Rupert Pybus, chief operating officer, Threadneedle Distribution, and Alison Jefferis, head of corporate communications.

She had more than 10 years of regional marketing, communications and client services experience within the asset management industry and had stints with DBS Asset Management, Deutsche Asset Management and iFAST Financial.

Threadneedle has been building up its Asian team and appointed Ng Soon as head of equities in October along with four other prominent hires.

Headquartered in UK, Threadneedle established its presence in Asia in 2008 and has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Australia.

Threadneedle manages assets worth $148bn as at 31 December 2013 and is owned by Ameriprise Financial, a leading US diversified financial services company with $771bn in assets under management and administration.
