Standard Chartered Private Bank has announced the appointments of relationship managers and team leaders in its global team based across booking centres in Singapore, Hong Kong and the UAE.
In Singapore, Nicholas Cheng recently joined the bank as managing director, head of private markets group, reporting to Foo Tian Ong, regional head, private banking, Southeast Asia, and Singapore location head.
Cheng has three decades of experience, building his career in product origination and distribution in private and public markets in Asia at leading Asian and European banks. Most recently, he has focused on strategic advisory to C-suite, and franchise building together with ultra high net worth individuals (UHNWI) and institutional limited partnerships.
Also in Singapore, Hedi Dorai joined the bank in June as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to Vijai Krovvidi, market head, private banking, global South Asian clients.
Dorai has over 20 years’ experience, having worked in leading private banks including most recently at Credit Suisse. He has a track record in investment advisory and portfolio management for HNW and UHNW clients in Asia, Middle East and Europe.
The third hire in the Lion City is Au Soo Leng, who joined as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to team lead Andy Chua. Au brings 30 years of experience in private banking and wealth management with HSBC, during which she focused on HNW and UHNW clients.
Angelina Wee joined as executive director, relationship manager in Singapore, reporting to team lead Gregory Wong. Most recently with UBS, Wee has two decades of experience in the industry.
Royston Ow Yong will join from UBS as managing director, team lead, reporting to Paterson Lau, market head, private banking, Indonesia. He is a seasoned private banker with 25 years of experience and a track record of building relationships with UHNW clients in Indonesia and Singapore.
Hong Shuqin and Gabriel Koh will join as director, relationship manager and associate director, relationship manager, respectively, reporting to Paterson. Hong has nearly 20 years of experience in client relationship management where she was most recently with Deutsche Bank. Koh has over 15 years of private banking experience, most of which were at UBS.
Sarah Lim will also join from UBS as head, investment advisory, reporting to Foo. In this role, Lim will lead the Asean and Greater China investment advisory team based in Singapore. She has two decades of investment advisory experience in Asia.
In Hong Kong, Jeffrey Song joined Standard Chartered Private Bank in June as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to team lead Joseph Tam. Song brings 12 years of private banking experience to the bank, with a long tenure at Credit Suisse.
Charlene Mak rejoined the bank in June from Bank of Singapore as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to team lead Elina Yuen. Following her first stint with Standard Chartered Hong Kong, Mak became a seasoned relationship manager for Greater China clients during the past 30 years.
Helen Tong has joined as managing director, relationship manager, reporting to Kin Chan, market head, private banking, Hong Kong. Tong has 16 years of experience working in leading international banks in Hong Kong, most recently at Credit Suisse.
Ramon Au Yeung has joined from Pictet Wealth Management as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to senior client partner, Nenita Ang Gabaldon. He has over 35 years’ experience in wealth management and private banking, covering markets in Greater China and Philippines during his time at leading international financial institutions.
Meanwhile, in the UAE, Alasdair Scarr rejoined the bank in June from Citi as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to Nash Mithani, head, private banking, UAE, and market head, global South Asian clients. Scarr has over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Finally, Ahmad Anabtawi joined as executive director, relationship manager, reporting to Mithani. He has over 25 years of banking experience in the Middle East, most recently with Mashreq Bank.
