PineBridge Investments has poached BlackRock’s Alfred Lee to serve as vice president for institutional business development.

In this newly created role, Lee will be responsible for strengthening and developing the firm’s relationships with institutional clients in Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines. He joined the firm earlier this month.

He is based in Hong Kong and reports to Rajeev Mittal, chief executive of PineBridge Asia.

Previously, he was a vice president at BlackRock and held a similar role for business development with institutional investors across Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines. He held various positions in Blackrock as part of business development and client services.

PineBridge had $77.7bn in assets under management on 30 June.

The firm appointed Anik Sen as global head of equities in February and in March hired Ana Dhoraisingam from PIMCO for the role of managing director, head of institutional business Southeast Asia.
