Pictet taps GS for Singapore CEO

Pictet Group’s private banking unit in Singapore has appointed an ex-Goldman Sachs managing director as its new CEO.

Bank of Pictet & Cie (Asia) has appointed Dominique Jooris as the new CEO in Singapore, with effect from 11 July.

Jooris will also serve as CEO of Pictet Wealth Management for south Asia. He will report to Claude Haberer, CEO of Pictet Wealth Management Asia.

The appointment is subject to the approval of the Singapore authorities.

Jooris joins Pictet from Goldman Sachs, where he held several positions since 2005, most recently as managing director with responsibility for credit capital markets in Asia, working out of Hong Kong.

He has 20 years of banking experience, including 10 years in Asia. He began his career at JP Morgan with the mergers & acquistions group.

“We are delighted that Dominique Jooris, with his long experience in Asia, has joined to lead our team in Singapore,” Nicolas Pictet, partner of Pictet Group, said in a statement.

The bank has been operating in Singapore since 1995.

In the region, Pictet Wealth Management has 110 staff employed in Singapore and 90 in Hong Kong, where it has been present since 1986 and was awarded a banking licence in 2012.
