MFS appoints regional head of distribution

MFS Investment Management has appointed Sally Choo, managing director for Asia ex-Japan, as its new regional head of distribution, effective 1 January.

She replaces Jonathan Tiu, CEO of MFS International Singapore and senior managing director for Asia, who will retire from MFS in August 2023. Choo will also take over from Jonathan Tiu as CEO of MFS International Singapore on 30 June 2023.

Choo has more than 20 years of industry experience. She joined MFS in March 2022 and is responsible for driving the growth of the firm’s businesses in the Asia ex-Japan region.

Before joining MFS, she was head of institutional business for Asia ex-China, ex-Japan at Amundi Asset Management. Prior to that, she worked for State Street Global Advisors Singapore as head of relationship management for southeast Asia. She also worked as a consultant with Mercer and Watson Wyatt in Singapore, where she advised government institutional clients and researched fund managers.

She will be based in Singapore and reports to Topher Callahan, global head of institutional sales and consultant relations.
