Mercer in alts hires for wealth business

Mercer has made three regional hires who specialise in alternatives, according to a statement from the firm.

The firm has appointed Chong Chee Loong as a Singapore-based principal consultant, Adrian Worth as a Hong Kong-based manager research consultant and Keith Zou as a Hong Kong-based senior analyst.

Chong and Worth joined the firm in April, while Zou joined in January.

Chong has 20 years of experience in the financial and investment industry. Before he joined Mercer, he was a Singapore-based senior investment director at Cambridge Associates, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He has experience overseeing the construction of hedge fund portfolios for institutional investors, according to the statement.

Worth, who specialises in hedge funds as well as multi-asset strategy research in Asia, was previously a London-based investment director for hedge fund manager research at Cambridge Associates.

Zou joined Mercer from Willis Towers Watson, where he focused on private markets manager research for four years.

Besides the additional expertise in alternatives, Mercer is pursuing investment licenses and adding personnel to support the development of its investment solutions business in Asia, Rich Nozum, the firm’s wealth leader for the growth markets region, said in the statement.

Mercer had global assets under delegated management of $157.5bn as of the end of December last year and advised assets of $10.2trn as of the end of June, according to the statement.
