Manulife appointment

Manulife Asset Management (Singapore) has poached UOB Asset Management’s Hui Min Ng to fill the newly-created position of director, Singapore equities.

The company said the creation of the role is part of its effort to maintain an on-the-ground presence in key investment markets in Asia.

The addition of Ng expands the Singapore equity team to four and adds to the company’s network of 75 equity investment professionals working in 10 markets in the region.

Ng will work with Manulife Asset Management’s Singapore equities team to highlight investment opportunities based on bottom-up analysis of investment opportunities. She reports to Lisa Yong, lead manager for the Singapore equities team.

Ng has 13 years of investment industry experience focusing on Singapore and ASEAN equities. At UOB Asset Management, she was a portfolio manager and conducted research on developers and real estate investment trusts as well as the consumer and telecom sectors. 

Manulife Asset Management (Singapore) has $1bn in equity assets under management, while across Asia it manages $16bn in equity assets.
