Legal & General Asset Management has made four new hires in its Singapore office in a push to grow its wealth business in the Asia region.
Russell Huang has been appointed as head of wholesale distribution for southeast Asia and Aaron Kwan has been named as head of wholesale distribution for greater China.
Huang, a 15-year industry veteran, joined the firm from UBS, where he was executive director advising regional clients on portfolio asset allocation and managed solutions.
Kwan joined from HSBC asset management where he spent 16 years, most recently as director of retail distribution.
Both Huang and Kwan will be reporting to Gerald Koh, head of wholesale for Asia (ex-Japan), based in Singapore.
Credit research & ESG hires
The firm also hired Choong Yew Thong as a research analyst in its Singapore office for its credit research team.
He was most recently a quantitative analyst at Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and will be tasked with deepening its regional investment research coverage.
Kate Lim was also hired as an ESG analyst to support the firm’s regional stewardship and investment engagement activities, reporting to Trista Chen, head of investment stewardship for Asia ex-Japan.
