Janus Henderson hires EM debt client portfolio manager

Mia Söderberg joins from Munich Re Group Investment Management.

Janus Henderson Investors has named Mia Söderberg as client portfolio manager for emerging markets debt.

In the Copenhagen-based role, Söderberg will be responsible for representing Janus Henderson’s emerging markets debt strategies to clients, consultants, and distribution partners globally.

She joins from Munich Re Group Investment Management, where she was a senior manager – asset manager selection. Her prior roles included senior portfolio manager in manager selection at Nykredit AM and head of fund selection at IKC Capital.

Thomas Haugaard, portfolio manager on the Janus Henderson emerging markets debt hard currency team, said: “Mia’s appointment allows us to deepen our relationships and further align our investment strategies with client needs.

“It marks a significant step forward in the evolution of our emerging markets debt franchise. Her deep understanding of manager selection and portfolio construction across the global EMD universe adds a perspective few teams have access to. She will play an instrumental role in helping us scale the platform and deliver a consistently high-quality client experience.”

Söderberg said: “I’m thrilled to join Janus Henderson at such a pivotal chapter in the firm’s growth story, and to bring my experience in emerging markets debt to a team so widely respected. I look forward to contributing to the continued evolution of the platform and helping deliver the insight and high‑quality engagement our clients value.”
