HEAD-TO-HEAD: Pictet versus T Rowe Price
FSA compares two Japanese equities products: the Pictet Japanese Equity Opportunities Fund and T Rowe Price Japanese Equity Fund.

Adrian Hickey joined Pictet Asset Management in 2006 and he is a senior investment manager in the regional equities team, specialising in Japanese equities.
“Throughout his investment career he has concentrated on Japanese equity fund management since joining Scottish Equitable in Edinburgh in 1991,” said McDermott. Hickey’s most recent position before joining Pictet was director, Japanese equities, with Foreign & Colonial in London. He has also held roles at Commerz International Capital Management, Edinburgh Fund Managers and Shell Pensions.
Tokyo-based Archie Ciganer has run the T Rowe Price Japanese Equity fund since December 2013, after joining the company as an analyst in 2007 and covering many of the industries in which the fund invests, according to McDermott.
He has more than 15 years’ experience in Japanese equities and is fluent in Japanese, French and English. Ciganer is supported by a team of 10 Japanese equity analysts based in London, Tokyo and Singapore.
