The Ninety One Asian Equity Fund has been managed by Greg Kuhnert since 2005, according to data from FE Fundinfo. He is the co-head of the 4Factor team and also co-manages the All China Equity and Asia-Pacific ex Japan Equity strategies.
“Kuhnert has been leading the strategy for 15 years and has proven that over a long period of time he has the ability to interpret the quantitative model well,” Poole said.
Besides the 4Factor team, he is supported by Charlie Linton and the firm’s Asia/emerging markets team, which has nine members, according to a Morningstar report.
Meanwhile, the Schroder ISF Asian Opportunities Fund has been managed by Toby Hudson since 2018, although he has been involved with the strategy for more than 10 years, according to a separate Morningstar report. Based in Hong Kong, Hudson is responsible for Hong Kong equity mandates and overseeing research in the Hong Kong and other Asian offices. He first joined Schroders in 1993 and transferred to the SAR in 1995.
“He has been with Schroders for 25+ years and has good support from around 29 analysts. This is a really strong cohesive team led by a very impressive manager with a long track record and a very clear process that he has implemented over a long period of time,” Poole said.
